"Dream"

During a family vacation near Yosemite National Park, I started to sketch the beautiful setting by the lake. At night the whole sky was studded with diamonds. It was magical.

Eventually my sketch evolved into this painting. I was thrilled to get back into painting again, after a long time working on digital images. I really missed my brushes, paints and the whole tactile feeling of painting. One thing is for sure...I love painting!

"Dream" was selected as the winner of the 2009 Illustrator's Day postcard contest,  sponsored by the Society of Children's Book Writers and Illustrators.
